Alice Carey will lead a diary-writing seminar that will explore the diverse ways diaries have been kept and used by people over the centuries. It will focus on benefits of diary keeping for its own sake and how diaries can inspire and lay the groundwork for the creation of memoir, non-fiction and fiction.
Alice will talk about how her own diaries kept over 50 years were extremely useful when it came to writing about her childhood in Killarney and New York City. She will read excerpts from early diaries, and how they served well in writing Manhattan To West Cork – Alice’s Adventures In Ireland
It's on in the Maritime Hotel on Tuesday 18 July from 2.30 p.m. and tickets are €20 - click here to book.
