Dáithí de Mórdha and Micheál de Mórdha

Dáithí de Mórdha, from Baile an Ghleanna, Dún Chaoin, works in The Great Blasket Centre and has studied the literary heritage, language, folklore and culture of the island. He has developed the photographic archive as an integral part of the social and cultural record of the lives of the islanders. A contributor to several documentary films on the heritage of West Kerry, he recently completed an M.Phil at the Dept. of Folklore & Ethnology, UCC.

Micheál de Mórdha, from Dún Chaoin, is Director of The Great Blasket Centre. He has been a producer/presenter with RTÉ Raidió Na Gaeltachta and a journalist with the Irish-language weekly, INNIU. Author of Scéal agus Dán Oileáin, a social history of Great Blasket Island, and An Rialtas Ab Fhearr, a humorous account of the making of Ryan's Daughter, Micheál edited publications and contributed to TG4 and RTÉ.
